Our cabins are simple, comfortable places to unplug and settle into lake life. Scattered through the pines and along the shoreline, each one offers its own front-row seat to fishing, swimming, sunrises, and slow days at the lake.

Our container cabins offer a modern take on lake living. Built from repurposed shipping containers and tucked into the pines, these tiny studios feature private decks, big lake views, and everything you need for an easy Northwoods escape.

Wambolts began in 1899 when Alexander “Bud” Wambolt built a fishing camp on Upper Bottle Lake, creating one of Minnesota’s earliest family resorts. More than a century later, we’re proud to carry that story forward—preserving the cabins, the forest, and the simple magic of lake life.

The Wambolts experience is about slowing down and enjoying lake life at its best. Swim, paddle, fish, sauna, or explore the vibrant Heartland Lakes Area—from Itasca State Park and local trails to great shops and restaurants in nearby Park Rapids.
